Dora's Eggs
(Reviewed by Catie Gosselin of WomanLinks.com)
by Julie Sykes
| Dora has filled her nest with beautiful, smooth, brown eggs. She is so
proud of her first eggs that she rushes to tell her friends around the
barnyard. Unfortunately, all are occupied and cannot come. Debbie Duck is
teaching her ducklings to paddle, Penny Pig was having too much fun
tumbling around with her piglets, and Daisy Dog is taking her puppies out
for a walk. |
 |
It seems that whoever Dora asks can't spare a minute because they are
caring for their young. Dora sadly realizes that although she thinks her
eggs are special and wonderful, they really pale in comparison to the youngsters in the farmyard.
She returns to the hen house only to find her once beautiful eggs now have
cracks. This is pretty much the last straw for Dora until she notices
fuzzy yellow chicks emerging from each egg. Her pride and joy are boundless!
This is a charming story of appreciation and gratitude for elementary age
kids.
