written by Helen Lester
(reviewed by Catie Gosselin of WomanLinks.com)
| Peer pressure can be a hard thing, especially when you are different.
Wodney Wat (Rodney Rat) has some trouble pronouncing his 'r's' and his
classmates give him no end of trouble about it. Poor Wodney is so
self-conscious, he just tries to blend into the background. |
 |
Enter Camilla Capybara, the biggest, meanest, smartest new kid in school.
Everyone, I mean everyone, is scared of her. She put the 'B' in bully! You
would think Wodney would be the last person in the world to take on the
school's toughest kid, but take her on he does. Without throwing a punch or
hurling an insult, Wodney shows his true spark. With the problem of Camilla
gone, Wodney realizes just how strong and special he really is.
