Life Strategies:
Doing What Works, Doing What Matters
Reviewed
by Kylie Ardill
Dr. Phillip C. McGraw doesn't mess around. This is no whimsical
self-help book. He is serious about helping you change any aspects of your life that you
are unhappy with and he doesn't waste time being nice about it.
You may recognize Dr Phil McGraw if you watch Oprah. She refers to him as
Dr "tell it like it is" Phil and she's not kidding.
I personally found this book to be an excellent tool for changing aspects
of my life that were a mess, or at least untidy. The book is filled with exercises that
force you to look at the real picture. If you're not ready for the changes you need to
make then you wont' like this book because you really do need to be completely ready to
face the side of yourself that isn't doing what needs to be done.
At the end of the book you use everything that Phil McGraw has covered in
previous chapters to create a comprehensive life plan. If you complete the reading and all
the work in between at the end of it you come out with a strategy to change your life that
won't fail. Simply because of the fact that you made it that far and did all the work in
the book.
Trust me, this is no self-help book for the faint hearted, if you have
made it to the end and completed the exercises I've every faith you'll be a different
person.
Thoroughly recommend it for the seriously serious about change.
