The Carpool Doesn't Show
By Jenette Zubero

What opportunities are available to us when the car pool doesn't show?

Five Ways to Take the Opportunity When The Carpool Doesn't Show
*Getting the kids off to school can be hectic enough. When the carpool forgets your children, find a way to take the opportunity.

1. Take the opportunity to relax. There's nothing you can do about the carpool not showing. Deal with it.

2. Take the opportunity to meet your neighbors. This is a good opportunity to meet your neighbors, and quickly! "Hi neighbor. I know it's 7:00 a.m. and you're retired, but if you could find a way to get my children to school, I'd be forever grateful and will return the favor whenever it's needed."

3. Take the opportunity to cut your morning routine back. Through your suit on, brush your hair and get those kids to school yourself. The adrenaline rush could add a nice urgency to your day.

4. Take the opportunity to learn the bus schedule. You may end up not needing that carpool if you children become accustomed to going to school via the buss system.

5. Take the opportunity to dust off those bikes. If your children are old enough, let them ride their bikes to school. It provides exercise and fresh air for the beginning and the end of the day.

*Morning routines can be rushed; and when someone doesn't do their part, it can add stress. Instead of getting upset when the carpool forgets to show, find a way to take the opportunity.
