Planning Now for the New Year
by Linda Fay Fayerweather

Having business success in the New Year means you need
to plan now. Here are Coach Fayerweather's tips on how to
plan and implement the plan.

2001 is just around the corner and you have the opportunity to make it
great. To do an effective job of having your business be what you want it to
be, here are some coaching tips to get on the right track.

* Review, Revise or Develop your Personal Mission Statement. "Why are you in
this business?"

* Plan your 2001 financial and sales goals

* Plan your Guerrilla Marketing attack - from networking to advertising

* Plan your customer service goals - newsletters, contacts, surveys, etc.

* How many referrals will you seek in 2001?

* In professional development, what will you master in 2001?

* Also, is there a technology area in which you want to achieve expertise?

* Seek help in thinking outside your box - Maybe an advisory board or mentor
is in your future.

Are you ready?

What a great time to plan your next 12 months. A projection takes your best
guess of your sales and expenditures and creates a monthly budget. When
businesses plan and review, they often exceed their monthly and yearly
goals. Make a grid to zero in on some specifics for 2001 - the first step in
making projections. Use the following three Headings.

*Item - Example: Newsletter

*Specific Details and Cost - I Want to have a four-page newsletter done
every other month for my customers and prospects. It will have a budget of
$250 per issue.

*On or Before Date - Example: The first issue will be in mailboxes by March
1, 2001.

By identifying and being specific on cost, specifics and date, you can easily back into the steps necessary to making this happen.
