Embossed Glue Heart Cards
Courtesy of our friends at
FrugalMoms.net
| These cards are really beautiful- who would know it is plain old glue and chalk that makes them special? |
You will need:
o Card-stock type white paper (again, I use the thicker printer paper- very cheap!) OR cardboard cereal box!
o White spray paint
o Tacky glue or other thick glue
o Syringe applicator (I use old ones from my kids’ prescriptions. Aleene’s sells a "Fine line syringe applicator" if you want to buy one
o Colored chalk in pink, green and yellow or other colors of your choice
o Paintbrushes
o Clear acrylic matte spray
o 12" of 1/4" wide white satin ribbon, optional |
Print out pattern (click here). WARNING: This file is big-215K, and at full size for printing. (You can print it out on that thick printer paper and then you don’t have to transfer it).
Transfer pattern to desired paper/cardboard and cut out.
Fill syringe with glue and apply to paper/cardboard. When glue is dry, spray paint both sides of cardboard white. I don’t think you need to spray paint if using paper.
Load paintbrush with chalk color by brushing the paintbrush against the piece of chalk. Brush color on design. Repeat with each desired color.
Spray with matte spray to seal in color.
Tie 1 ribbon length in a bow and glue to top front of heart. If desired, you can make a ribbon hanger for the card. You can also write a message on the back, or make two hearts and tie them together with ribbon like a book and write your message inside. Very pretty!
Easier Embossed Cards
You can use the same pattern as above, but instead of using glue and chalk, use fabric paint in the colors of your choice. You do not have to spray the card with
acrylic matte spray either.

I have a theory. Chocolate is a mom's best friend. Wait, is that a

of day, and especially for Valentine's Day if you need an excuse to
serve it. These recipes are appropriately gooey and rich.
